Okay, I admit it.... I am struggling with this return to " Normalcy ".
I am missing the trail, the atmosphere and most of all the 8 person extended knucklehead team.
I can't explain it fully, the group that we hung out with means a great deal. I met all of you at a unique time in my life... won't get into the minutia, but I have had a few hard knocks over the past months and this was in short, a peaceful week despite the trials and tribulations. Thanks to you all.
I hope all are doing well and received similar benefit from the experience.
Mimi, I read your comments attached to the mad sheep dog documentation ( I still am petrified from the perilous interface with the beast )... tried to send you an email, but I can't figure out how to shoot you a message.
My email address is georgebrown926@yahoo.com.... please shoot me a note or let us know how to reach you via a blog comment. Lets all plan to deposit an email address on the teamknucklehead blog. Sat / Jo.... I haven't tuned into your blog yet, but I'm sure your hard at work defining our infrastructure.
Lets stay in touch...
I promise you all that I will be a catalyst for reconvening at some future event..... London Marathon seems to be a logical reunion event. The goat's 50 miler next spring has potential as well.
Since when would you two recognize "normal". What you did doesn't fall into that catagory... It was the highlight of my running career, though I've accomplished longer and tougher venues, none included the camraderie and bonding that ocurred between us 'back of the pack' teams. I hope we'll meet on a trail again - give you a chance to prove you can beat the 'geezers'.
I think I'll be back in one or two years only with another partner... Annie. That's about the only thing that would make the next race sweeter than this one!
Agreed, the London marathon seems like a great idea....let me know where and when. Another idea I think it would be fun, is to run along with Sat for part of his next adventure, running across India.
I am mentally preparing myself to do the TRR again in 2 years and I would not consider running/hiking with anyone other than Mimi. Next year is too soon to ask my husband, Craig, to handle 80% of the household chores.
I have had a Eureka... for those of us that are wondering what the next challenge could / should be.
P90X... a 90 day diverse exercise / nutrition program....as seen on TV. If you've ever talked to those that do it... it is not easy, but hugely successful. Seems like after each of us became leaner from the Trans Rockie training / run.... the timing couldn't be better for optimal results.
You can go to www.px90.com and it will launch you to the link below. Cost is $ 129
