Day 141,142,143 & 144

Well I wish I could say the cross training went well...but my golf game was horrible. Could not get on track. But I always enjoy playing golf with Rick as well as his step son Brian. It was pretty funny there was a cute young snack girl driving around the course...Brian and his friend must of spent $50 buying snacks from her. I think one them got her phone #. Oh to be young and single again!!!

Friday was a busy day at work beginning of a new month. Ran 8+ miles during lunch time mostly trail it was hot. Then into the Y for some stomach and upper body work. The guys at the Y are giving me encouragement only three weeks from Friday till we fly out. After work we had our LL-Allstar party for the kids. It was a good night...the parents and the kids all had a good time.

Saturday, woke-up early and went for a 12 mile run before the weather got bad. Spent the rest of day trying to figure out what we should be bringing on the trip. Here is the list George and I have put together if anyone has any suggestions please COMMENT thanks.

Fred,

Don't forget freezer bags.

Also heard a great recommendation from a camping friend to buy one of the halogen jogging lights that you wear on your head to use in the tent for reading etc. Beats trying to orient flashlights for reading or peeing into your frickin pee bottle.

Had kind of a disappointing running week. We have had 107 degree days in Dallas and quite honestly, it is just crippling me after 80 minutes of a run or so.

I guess the good news is that we really should be tapering, and in my opinion.... we should be tapering moreso than the training schedule indicates.

Need one more burst of interest / energy to maintain fitness for another 20 days..... we can do it.

Geeez - are you running or going on holiday? a Pee bottle? That's what God made trees for... My only problem is finding an AC outlet for my massage chair.

Cool - a massage chair...that'll be nice while we're watching George's plasma TV.

My problem is trying to figure out how we're going to get a hot tub into the duffel bag!!

BTW: We spoke to the shuttle company. They said they've had lots of requests and they are in the process of looking at them all and then will respond to everyone once they've planned their shuttles around the demand.

Explain the 6 shirts and 8 shorts? Pee bottle forget it. Headlamp is good idea and should be in your running pack.

Steve,George,Sat and Paulie.

It is either the Pee bottle or FloMax. I do not want to get up 3x in the middle of night and look for a tree and then try and find my tent that will look exactly like 60 other tents. With my sense of direction I could get lost and wander through the night.

heh heh - I think that's going to be George's approach..."accidently" getting into a tent with a couple of lovely ladies ;)

Actually I think the pee-bottle's a good idea....as long as you dont confuse it with George's beer bottle.

Also suggest bringing a self-adhesive punture repair patch...for the hydration pack...in case it picks up a puncture (like mine has recently)...does the trick.

Thanks for the tip on the hydration pack. Will do.

You are right about George...that IS his plan for meeting the young ladies. Plan # 42...
